Tip of the week from David.
If you miss playing doubles, why not try out this practice format whilst playing singles, over the next few weeks.
Whichever side you are serving to, just keep playing to that side with tramlines included. Great practice for your cross court play, including serve and volleys.

Great news for our O'70's members today.
You can now play tennis if you live within a 5km radius from the club.
Please note that you have to follow the Return to Play protocols and you have to contact David before turning up to the club.

Laytown & Bettystown Lawn Tennis Club is delighted to announce that we are ready to Return to Play with all the necessary protocols in place for Phase 1.
Many thanks to David, Stephen and Derek for the hard prep work done in the club today and the Committee's hard work over the last few weeks.

A tough decision was made today to close our club until further notice in response to Covid-19.
Your health and safety is our top concern.
Please stay safe and hopefully we will all be back on the courts, sooner rather than later.

Dear Members,

In line with HSE and government advice we are closing the tennis club for the next seven days.

Following that the clubhouse will remain closed indefinitely. This means no access to showers, toilet, changing area, floodlights or the kitchen.

The courts will remain open for members only noting the following:
• All social gatherings/events are cancelled until further notice
• Exercise social distancing at all times as per HSE guidelines
• We advise our members not to shake hands with opponents
• Given that players are sharing tennis balls during a match, we advise that you wash your hands thoroughly after the game is finished. There will be soap provided at the outdoor sink; please bring your own towel.
• Anyone with an underlying condition which puts them at increased risk should take this into consideration when planning activities.
We ask members not to visit the Club if they have traveled to any of the infected areas within the last fourteen days or have been in contact with anyone who has contracted the virus within the last fourteen days. Any members that feel sick or are experiencing any symptoms of respiratory illness, including coughing and/or sneezing, must not attend the Club. We will continue to monitor the situation and will be guided by HSE guidelines and government policy.
Our primary goal at this time is that we all stay safe and healthy. We thank you again for your patience and understanding during this very challenging period for all and we hope you all stay safe during these extraordinary times.
